Boswachter CS-50
In 1972 he was in the folder for the first time: a CS-50 that was delivered in a moss-green color. That was the type designation 517-05 liste 9. Still with the regular flat flapped tank, the logo was cast on the tool cover and the square tacho in the headlight nacelle. Slight changes to the model were made for type designation 517-05 liste 0 in 1974. This was also a CS-50 with the 3-speed manual gearbox. The tank now got a horizontal track with the Zündapp sticker on it. A round tacho was mounted and the tool covers were given a model sticker on it. In 1976 this model and color was followed by the 529 models.
Both 517 models in the moss green were a 3-hand switched CS-50 with forced cooling. Hence the nickname: "Forester", or in Dutch "Boswachter". Undoubtedly, a real forester will have been spotted on the "Forester", but his nickname can no longer be ignored in the Zündapp world.
RAL 6035 comes closest to the moss green Zündapp color.
