Famel (Fabrica de Produtos Metalicos Lda), Famel was one of the largest Portuguese moped manufacturers between 1960 and 1994. Based in Águeda, the company built different models using Zündapp engines. The most popular model was the XF17. Presented in 1970.

Their latest product was the world's first electric scooter, developed in 1993. Famel Electric or Electron, fully produced with Portuguese technology in collaboration with Efacec. In 1994 Famel closed the gate.
